I am an immigrant and a Democratic Socialist. I have been on EBT, unemployed, and homeless. I am running because I know the difficulties we all go through and I wish to make things better.

Generating youth interest in local politics to ensure a democracy of the people led by younger generations.

Pass a Peoples Budget to create protections and new opportunities for all walks of life. This includes renters rights, legal counsel to tenants and immigrants, Black Lives Matter.

Investing in a transition to clean renewable energies in the most polluted city in California.
To make big changes in our state and country we must begin at home. This position offers the opportunity to make changes that have a lasting effect in our community today.
It is hard to pick only one. So I will talk about 2 of the people who I admire most. One is Bernie Sanders, and the other is Jose "Pepe" Mujica (former President of Uruguay). Both these men are examples of selflessness that have worked tirelessly to meet the needs of the people. Time and time again, they have been on the right side of politics even when it wasn't a popular idea. I, too, aspire to give my all and represent the people.
People should always come before the party's needs—a government of the people for the people.
Having a good ear to listen to the people and acting accordingly. Social Justice and Racial Equity.
Leave the earth better than I found it.

Danza Rota by Soda Estereo is a repeat song for me as well as Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners. As you can see I like older songs and I generally do not stick to one genre.
Not at all. The only real quality needed is a desire to serve the public, which is the true and purest reason for the existence of this role.
To have a profound understanding of the working class problems. If one has never worked or never lived in poverty, how can you serve those whose needs are most significant? You cannot meet the needs of the people if you don't know what those needs are.

Be able to adapt to any challenges that may arise.

Admit when mistakes are made and make the needed changes to remedy the situation.
