J. Ron Gray was an at-large representative on the Berkeley County Board of Education in West Virginia. He was first elected to the board in 2010, and served until June 30, 2016.[1]

Gray sought another term in the general election on May 10, 2016.[2][3] He lost the election.[4]

Gray is a retired teacher and coach. He worked for Berkeley County Schools. He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and safety education from Shepherd College.[1] He and his wife have two daughters and seven grandchildren.[5]

Two of the five seats on the Berkeley County Schools Board of Education were up for at-large general election on May 10, 2016. In their bids for re-election, incumbents J. Ron Gray and William "Bill" Queen faced challenger Michelle Barnes-Russell.[2][6] Queen won re-election, and Barnes-Russell defeated Gray to win a seat on the board.[4]
