J. Scott O'Keefe (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He assumed office in 2013. His current term ends on January 2, 2034.

O'Keefe ran for re-election for judge of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He won in the retention election on November 7, 2023.

Education

O'Keefe received a B.A. from Villanova University and a J.D. from Widener University.[1]

Career

Prior to becoming a judge, O'Keefe was a trial attorney for 33 years. He has also worked as an adjunct professor at Villanova University and a police officer.[2]

2013

O'Keefe did not run in the primaries, but was able to get on the general election ballat due to a sudden vacancy on the court. In this case, party committee members can select a new candidate for the general election without holding another primary. O'Keefe ran for election to the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. General: He was elected in the general election on November 5, 2013, with 13.2 percent of the vote. Joe Fernandes, Giovanni O. Campbell, Sierra Thomas Street, Timika Lane, Anne Marie B. Coyle and Judge Kenneth J. Powell, Jr. were also on the ballot, competing for seven open seats.[3][4]

2011

O'Keefe ran for an open seat on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. He lost the Democratic Party primary to a number of candidates on May 17. He received 2.6% of the vote in the Democratic primary.[5] He only filed with the Democratic Party.[6]
