J. Thomas McGrady
J. Thomas McGrady was a judge of the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Jeb Bush in December of 2001. McGrady later ran unopposed and was retained in the August 2010 primary to a six-year term.[1][2] He served as chief judge from July 2009 to June 30, 2013.[1][3] He retired from the court in June 2015.[4]
Biography
McGrady received his B.A. degree in education from the University of Florida in 1971 and his J.D. degree from the same university in 1974.[1] McGrady worked as a private practice lawyer prior to becoming a judge. He began at the firm of Bradham, Lyle, Skipper and Cramer in 1974, but started his own firm with Richard Stoneman and Rick Mattson two years later. He worked in that capacity until his appointment to the Pinellas County Court in August of 1999. In 2002, he joined the circuit court.[1][2]

McGrady ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[6][7]
