I’m Jabari, and I’m running for Congress because I have experienced the magic of our community and the power in what makes us different. I know the strength to get through unbeatable challenges and reject the status quo.
While we're trying to keep a roof over ouf head, private equity firms and corporate landlords are jacking up Chicago rents by over 10% on new leases. So we're getting crushed on rent, crushed on healthcare, crushed at the grocery store. And what are our politicians doing? Pointing fingers at each other while cashing checks from billionaires. Both sides are playing the same game. Now I know what you're thinking…another person saying they're different. But here's the thing. I actually worked in health policy and healthcare systems. I've seen firsthand how profits get prioritized over people. And I'm not connected to the billionaires funding everyone else's campaigns. My whole focus is making sure that when you work full time, you can actually support your family. That means real solutions for housing costs, healthcare, groceries, all of it. This isn't about left versus right. This is about the 1% squeezing the other 99%. And the only way we fix this is by sending people to Congress who understand what working families actually go through every single day.
Because our district deserves better than empty promises and corporate puppet shows.- I actually understand what our working and middle class neighbors struggle with. My priorities to help make everyday life affordable will include policy-backed solutions to the cost of groceries and household essentials, health care, housing, energy & supporting working & middle class families.
- My priorities for creators is to fight back against corporate greed by strengthening anti-trust policy, fighting to update contract law for artist against large exploitative companies, advocating for mental health support for creative youth & ensuring all young artists have the tools to create..
- My professional and educational background is in health policy & analysis and managing healthcare systems. I understand the impacts the cost of healthcare takes on us all, which is why this is top priority for me. Similar to many other issues rising cost, profits at the cost of people is mostly to blame. I will fight to close coverage gaps to working families, expand care for the middle class. Draft and support policies that lower prescription cost for all and protect women's health.
