Jack M. Battaglia
Jack M. Battaglia is a former justice of the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 2nd Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this position in 2007.[1][2]
Education
Battaglia received his B.A. from Fordham University in 1968 and his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1971.[1]
Career
Battaglia began his career in 1971 as a staff attorney for the Legistlative Drafting Research Fund of Columbia University. In 1973, he joined the law firm of Greenbaum, Wolf & Ernst as an associate. He became a partner of this firm in 1980. He then worked as an associate professor of law at Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center from 1982 to 1984. He spent the following two years in private practice before becoming senior counsel to the Pilkington Visioncare/Revlon Vision Care Group in 1986. He returned to the private practice of law in 1989 and he worked in this capacity until 1992. From 1992 to 2000, he taught again as an associate professor of law at Touro College. In 2001, he was elected to the New York City Civil Court of Kings County and, in 2007, he was elected to the supreme court.[1]
