Jack Partain

Ballotpedia provides comprehensive election coverage of the 100 largest cities in America by population as well as mayoral, city council, and district attorney election coverage in state capitals outside of the 100 largest cities. This judge is outside of that coverage scope and does not receive scheduled updates.
Jack Partain was a judge of the Conasauga Circuit of Georgia.[1] He retired in 2016.[2]
Career
Prior to becoming a superior court judge, Partain was the district attorney for the Conasauga Judicial Circuit.[3]
Approach to the law
Drug Court
Partain claimed to handle drug court "180 degrees" differently than other courts. He said he sees the abusers weekly, and must be a "judge, cheerleader, father figure, and coach" depending on what the drug user needs. He claims that criminal and civil courts are impartial, but a drug court judge is an advocate, and it must be so for the process to be successful.[4]
2012 election
Partain ran unopposed for re-election to the Conasauga Superior Court.[5] He was re-elected after receiving 99.4% of the vote in the July 31 election.[6]
