Jack Pope
Jack Pope was the chief justice of the Texas Supreme Court from November 29, 1982, to January 4, 1985.[1] He died on Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the age of 103.[2]
Education
Pope graduated from Abilene Christian University in 1934 and from the University of Texas School of Law in 1937.[2]
Career
Before his election to the Texas Supreme Court, Pope served as a district judge in Nueces County, Texas, and on the Texas Fourth District Court of Appeals. He was elected to the supreme court in 1964 and appointed chief justice in 1982.[2]
