Campaign themes

2013

Reutzel stated the following about his campaign priorities on his website:

A parent. My wife Karen and I have raised two kids through the LPS system. Our son graduated from Littleton High School and is now at CU and our daughter is a sophomore at Heritage High School. I have seen first hand the benefits of great teachers in the classrooms and have witnessed the camaraderie created through extra-curricular activities within LPS.

Involved in LPS. I have served on various committees within LPS for 10 years, serving on school accountability committees, Principal search committees and the Littleton Council on Educator Effectiveness.

An advocate for kids. I support all activities that encourage creativity, problem solving and team work. I have been a coach of girls' lacrosse, boys' baseball and basketball. I support TSA, Destination Imagination, athletics, music, theatre and the arts.

Objective, hard working and a decision maker. As an attorney for the past 26 years I have sharpened my analytical skills and negotiation abilities to move complex projects to successful outcomes.

Honest enough to admit what I don’t know and will ask the tough questions to make sure my understanding is complete before I vote.[5]
