Primary: He was defeated in the Republican primary on June 24, 2014, receiving 14.4 percent of the vote. He competed against Donald J. Stifler, J. Franklin Knight, and incumbent Judges Linda M. Hess and John Dale Smack, III. Primary candidates competed for 3 seats.
