I am an Alabama native who is running as a progressive Democrat to represent AL 2 in the US House of Representatives. Our campaign is proud to fight for the rights of all Americans and create a more accessible and brighter world for future generations!
I am personally passionate about drug reform, policing reform, and emboldening the voices of disenfranchised communities in Alabama and across the nation.
I look up to former President Obama, and I strive to follow his example of organizing communities around positive political change and partnership between the people and the government representing them.
I believe the most important characteristics and principles for an elected official are empathy, humility, and a willingness to listen to the people they represent and the people of the nation. Without these qualities, our elected officials are in danger of supporting misguided legislation which harms or devalues people's rights.
I want the people of this state and country to remember me as a person who helped lift up the voices of disenfranchised people and represented their interests in the US House of Representatives.
9/11 was the first historical event I remember that happened in my lifetime. I was 6 at the time, and I remember not understanding the global political implications and policies that would follow this event.
I started my first full time job at 14, working as a maintenance employee for a summer camp in north Alabama. I worked there for a year until moving onto Kroger for another four years.
Metaphysics of Morals - Immanuel Kant

This is my favorite book because it outlines a quality of rights and political institutions which I seek to uphold in office.
I believe our greatest challenge over the next decade will be bridging the gap between the political left and right in this country. At the end of the day, we all have to interact with one another and work together. We can only do this if we find some grounds for cooperation.
I am pro term limits for members of Congress. I believe that removing the incentive for re-election will promote a better quality of legislation from our elected officials.
I believe compromise is necessary for policymaking, but I refuse to compromise on issues of human rights and basic liberties granted to Americans.
