I am an attorney. who has practiced in Fayette County for several decades. I am a "poor mans" country lawyer. I am married and have two daughters who are lawyers. Previously I have served on the Fayette County Democrat Executive Committee as its Vice chair for 8 years. I was county campaign manager in 1996 for Charlotte Pritt who was the first woman to be nominated for West Virginia 's Governor... Fayette County gave her the third or fourth largest vote in that race. I worked with and co ordinated teachers, United Mine workers and other labor unions. This county needs to address the drug problems with accessible re-hab facilities in the county. We need to support tourism as a natural goal with the newest National Park. But we still need year-round employment. The county has an industrial park, and we need to push to fill it up with businesses to bring jobs to Fayette County. Utility companies seem to get automatic rate increases, without our leaders fighting such raises which affects ALL our citizens. I would propose an elected Public Service Commission to make the rate "setters" ELECTED and thus responsible to our citizens. We need to seek the development of affordable housing and resources are available if folks will organize and fight for such housing. Medical assistance and medical and prescription costs are areas that must be addressed.
  • Economic growth with good jobs.
  • Addressing drug problem with an " in county" re-hab facility. More funding to police agencies to aid them.
  • Affordable housing with curb on utility rate increases
Helping poor and middle classes with their problems
President Eisenhower's State of the Union message. Also was on floor of the House when General Charles De Guald of France addressed Congress.

Trying to find out what God's purpose is for me..
Independence and respect for each of their constitutional roles
Yes. My legal experiences have shown me that to accomplish a goal, requires a lot of give and take. Building a good relationship is important.
My grandfather, J. Alfred Taylor who served many years in the House of Delegates; became Speaker of the House; was elected to the United States Congress and was a Democratic nominee for Governor..
Having represented hundreds if not thousands of legal clients in my years, there are so many stories to relate. Bottom line, they came to me to help solve their problem and I put my heart and soul into helping.
I hope the day never comes but I have no problem granting such emergency powers to the Executive branch as we would still have a faithful and trustworthy Judiciary to monitor our actions.
Making the Public Service Commission an elective agency
Fayette County Fraternal Order of Police. At this writing time, applications are in process.
Finance and Judiciary
Strongly believe in all government agencies to act with transparency.
