Whitfield ran in the 2010 election for Kentucky State Senate. Whitfield was unopposed in the May 18, 2010 Republican primary.[1] Whitfield lost to incumbent Jerry Rhoads (D) by a margin of 17,473 to 15,750 in the November 2 general election.[2]
