Wagner ran for re-election to the Terry County Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 48.8 percent of the vote. He competed against J. A. "Trey" Didway and Alan D. Bayer.
Runoff: Because no candidate received more than 50% of the vote, Wagner faced Bayer in a runoff election on May 27. Wagner won, earning 62.8% of the votes cast.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 4, 2014.
