I am a raiser of little citizens, Navy vet, certified doer and candidate for Norfolk city council. Though originally from the Chicagoland area, I chose Norfolk as my hometown after 11 years in the United States Navy. I am running for city council because our communities need leadership that treats them as a guide in governance and not a guest. There is an overwhelming need for education on civics and policy building especially in the economically advancing and minoritized communities in Norfolk. I value three simple things: Accountability, Boldness, and Coalitions (ABC). Each of these is needed in the execution of my shared vision for the City of Norfolk. My goal is to legislate toward a more inclusive Norfolk that accurately represents all women and families, from politics and government to entertainment and entrepreneurship and everything in between. It is my duty to improve the quality of life through economics and governance that fosters the empowerment and independence of women and families.
I am personally passionate about eviction, community development, rank choice voting, participatory budgeting, and care infrastructure.
I look up to a woman named Jess Weiner. Jess is authentic, honest, insightful, and vulnerable. She is committed to her work and best self. Jess is all about purpose-driven mission accomplishment. Most of her missions are centered on improving the quality of life and culture for communities and organizations. I love and desire to resemble everything about Jess Weiner.

I am an empathic, creative problem solver with a knack for developing inclusive policies and practices. My ability to work with people that don't always share my sentiments. I am a common ground candidate. I recognized that I am working for 5 generations of voters and one generation of none voters. I can hold that in my hand while serving this city.

Baby Jessica fell into a well in Midland, Texas, on Oct. 14, 1987. It took several days to rescue her. The week she fell into the well, the stock market was down significantly and Nancy Reagan was hospitalized with cancer. I was four years old.
I earned my first job ad 14. I was a park and recreation summer camp counselor. The job was for two and a half months.
Four Agreements is my favorite book. It taught me how to have a better relationship with myself which has directly and positively influence my external relationships.
It is helpful the officeholders have experience with working in communities, partnering or providing accountability in government and politics.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Virginia

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states. To contribute to the list of Virginia scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
