|I’m a second generation Californian, and as the daughter of immigrants, I believe in giving everyone a fair chance at the American Dream. I understand what drove my Taiwanese American parents and so many others like them to pursue a brighter future - the belief that this is the best place to build something for yourself, your family and your community.
My love for Irvine began during my undergraduate years at UCI, and I’ve seen how much the city has evolved over the last twenty years. We are now at a pivotal moment in our city’s growth, and we need thoughtful planning, robust infrastructure and a strong city council to support Irvine’s future.
I believe in a life dedicated to service, which is why I volunteer for organizations that support survivors of sex trafficking, and I’m a member of the Irvine Community Emergency Response Team, a program that prepares residents for emergencies such as fire disasters.
Over the course of nearly two decades, I’ve been at the forefront of driving digital transformation within Fortune 500 companies spanning various industries. Professionally, I work for a medical device company and also own a small business that operates out of Irvine.- Public Safety - Enhance neighborhood safety through the implementation of impactful programs and services. Build upon the city’s collaboration with law enforcement and fire authorities to strengthen community partnership.
- Environment & Sustainable Growth - Actively involve our community in shaping the future of the Gateway Preserve, an area undergoing transformation from an asphalt plant site to expansive open space. As we embark on this growth, which will extend the Jeffrey Open Space Trail into the North Irvine Open Space, it is essential to ensure that planning efforts are informed by comprehensive community engagement.
- Children & Families - Improve the availability of quality childcare options for families through collaboration with childcare providers and community organizations. Many parents find themselves on childcare waiting lists for several years, if they manage to secure a spot at all. This shortage can significantly impact families, forcing them to make difficult decisions regarding their careers and financial stability. Access to safe, reliable, and affordable childcare is essential for the well-being of any community.
My experience in the service industry instilled in me the importance of treating others with respect and kindness. It reinforced the value of hard work, the necessity of fair wages and access to housing, and the vital role small businesses play in making Irvine the vibrant and thriving community it is today.
