Text of measure

Ballot question

The ballot question was as follows:[1]

Shall Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV and Sections 1, 4, and 6 of Article VII of the Jackson County Charter, adopted by vote on November 3, 1970, and as amended in public vote on August 8, 1978, April 2, 1985, November 4, 1986, August 2, 1994, and August 3, 2010, be amended to provide term limits for the Sheriff, to set out specific circumstances under which the Sheriff shall forfeit office, to grant the Sheriff the duty and authority to operate the county detention center and other detention facilities, to grant the Sheriff limited authority to enter into contracts to support the Sheriff's Office, and to provide a salary increase for the Sheriff?[2]
