Jackson Sales Tax Increase, also known as Proposition 1, was on the November 6, 2012 election ballot in Cape Girardeau County, which is in Missouri, where it was approved.
The proposed measure called for increasing Jackson City's sales tax by 1/4 cent. According to city officials, the revenue would be used for operating costs for a donated 27,000 sq. ft. community center and for park operations and improvements. The increase would raise Jackson's sales tax to 7.225.[1]

Instructions to voters: "if you are in favor of the proposition, place an X in the box opposite 'Yes.' If you are opposed to the proposition, place an X in the box opposite 'No.'"[2]
