This measure sought to replace the current expenses levy with one set at a rate of $.15 per $100 of assessed property for a further five years in order to continue to pay for current expenses in the township.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| A replacement of a tax for the benefit of Jackson Township for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding 1.5 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to fifteen cents ($0.15) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of five years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
