Jacob Baum, attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to study Political Science, American Studies and History. Baum grew up in Kernersville, North Carolina where he remains today. Baum's Career is two-part in as a journalist and independent investor.
  • Investing in our roads, schools and other infrastructure across the State of North Carolina now, will pay dividends in the long term development of our state.
  • It is important for us, as a state to maintain some form of bi-partisan nature when addressing legislative issues. It has to be people over party sometimes, find a compromise and do what's best for all citizens.
  • Many of our laws and policies are outdated, we need someone in Raliegh who is coming in with fresh eyes, and a clear mindset and put a new perspective on the issues of today.
Baum is passionate about Traffic and Pedestrian Safety, Educational Policies, and Criminal Justice reform.
I look up to my late father, who passed away in a car crash while coming from work, when his car was struck by an out of control tractor trailer. My father, was the embodiment of a perfect father, and lost his life providing for both my brother, and myself. His values, and morals are something I wish to follow in my own life and strive to be the best father;man I can be in life, and provide for the ones I hold most dear.
My first job, was a part-time position with Zaxby's for three and a half years. This opportunity helped teach me the value of money, and give me the opportunity to attend a University of North Carolina System School without any debt. It was a valuable lesson, that the harder one works up front, how it will pay off later on.
The economic expansion of sub-urban counties, and the redevelopment of schools with aging buildings which will need to be replaced in the coming decade, as well as other infrastructure which needs to be repaired or added as we as a state continue to grow.
