Growing up in an environment of addiction recovery, I developed a sense of empathy early. I always wanted to help those who felt like they had no voice. I grew up in the Lamar County area, graduating from Lamar Christian School. I then continued my education at Pearl River Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi where I majored in Political Science and Economics. I recently married my wife, Gabrielle, who works in Poplarville managing a boutique. We have and always will be Mississippians.
  • We live in an era where we are impacted by most of our youth leaving to other states for college and employment. This is causing us to be left with less growth, ideas, and progress that the young minds of a society bring. Offering opportunities for the future of our state to stay here and sow into our economy helps secure a future for Mississippi. Additionally, The HELP grant offered by Mississippi is a resource that allows so many underprivileged students get an education that can lift families out of poverty. I will do everything in my power to protect this resource that gives so many students the opportunity for higher education.
  • We also live in a society that punishes those who already punish themselves. Growing up in an environment of addiction recovery, I have seen firsthand how bad our government handles drug policy. The first responders that are seeing the bulk of this are overworked and underpaid. We are not doing them justice by keeping things the way they are. Those suffering from addiction need to be treated as people, and guided on a path to recovery so that they may be impactful citizens
  • Mississippi is a land of opportunity. With areas like the coast, pine belt, and delta growing faster than ever before, it is time for us to capitalize on that growth and build a firm foundation that includes more jobs for college educated and an infrastructure that will last for years. It is irresponsible to leave our state in a worst place for the next generation. For too long corporate interests and a corrupt political system have halted Mississippi's progress.
