Jacobia Dowell
Jacobia Dowell is a former member of the Nashville Metro Council in Tennessee, representing District 32. She was elected to the council in 2011.[1] She did not seek re-election in 2019.
Biography
Dowell earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville, going on to earn an affiliate broker license from the University of Memphis and an MBA from Trevecca Nazarene University. Her professional experience includes the following:
- 2011-2019: Council member, Nashville Metro Council
- 2005-2011: Business operations analyst, Healthways
- 1999-2006: Financial analyst, Hospital Corporation of America
- 1997-1999: Client reporting supervisor, Deutsche Bank[2]
Elections
2015
The city of Nashville, Tennessee, held nonpartisan elections for mayor and metro council on August 6, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was May 21, 2015. All 41 metro council seats—including the office of vice mayor—were up for election. In District 32, incumbent Jacobia Dowell defeated Ronald A. Haskins and William Kizzie.[3][4]
