Biography
Jake Heard was born in Urbandale, Iowa. He earned a high school diploma from Urbandale High School, an associate degree from Des Moines Area Community College in 2010, a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 2012, and a law degree from Drake Law School in 2015. Heard's career experience includes working as a criminal defense attorney, caucus staffer for the Iowa Senate Republicans, and chief of staff to Iowa Senate President Jake Chapman. As of 2024, he was affiliated with the Iowa Institute of Justice and the Libertarian Party of Iowa.[1]

I am running as a libertarian for Iowa House District 44.- Smaller, more limited government in all aspects of life

- Will always be an independent thinking legislator who votes on what is best for my constituents regardless of party or special interest influence
