I was born and raised in the 82nd Assembly District and continue to call it home, living in the Throggs Neck community of the Bronx. I grew up in a hardworking working-class family—the son of a Teamsters truck driver and a New York City school aide—who taught me the value of service, commitment, and community. I attended our local public schools, P.S. 72 and I.S. 192, before graduating from Cardinal Spellman High School. I later earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Public Administration from Baruch College, right here in New York City. For the past fifteen years, I have been proud to work at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where I currently serve as the Assistant Director of the Falk Recreation Center. In this role, I’ve had the opportunity to support countless individuals, strengthen health and wellness outcomes, and create meaningful, engaging programs for medical students. I look forward to the opportunity to serve the 82nd Assembly District and fight for policies that improve our quality of life. An Assembly Member should be a steward of the neighborhood — making sure every taxpayer dollar is maximized for the benefit of the community.
  • Lower Con Edison Delivery Charges. Our district faces the highest Con Edison delivery rates in all of New York City. Residents here are charged $1.29 per therm for gas usage, compared to $1.09 per therm in Manhattan, and far less than what families pay in Queens and Brooklyn. There is no justification for hardworking families in our district paying more to heat their homes than anywhere else in the city. We need legislation that either levels delivery rates citywide or establishes a targeted tax credit for households burdened by these excessive charges. Energy is a basic necessity and should be treated the same way we treat water: the rate should not depend on your ZIP code.
  • Reforming our education system- Our schools are failing to teach students fundamental life skills — including budgeting, taxes, interest rates, student loans, and basic nutritional health. I will advocate for mandatory financial literacy and health education courses that teach students the skills they actually need in life. We must ensure young people graduate understanding how to budget, save, invest, manage debt, and make healthy choices. Right now, we are not preparing our children for real-world challenges. In doing so, we are setting them up for unnecessary hardship. Together, we can change that — and put the next generation on a path toward healthier lives and stronger financial futures.
  • Keeping the American Dream Alive- I will advocate for the creation of a New York State Bank dedicated to supporting middle-income New Yorkers who are purchasing their first home. This bank would offer reduced interest rates — around 3% for qualified buyers — helping hardworking families save thousands of dollars and making home ownership more attainable. Additionally, I will push for legislation that prevents large investment firms from buying up single-family homes. These homes form the foundation of our communities. They are meant for families, not for multibillion-dollar corporations like BlackRock to use as investment vehicles at the expense of everyday New Yorkers.
I have a strong passion for affordability issues, particularly those affecting working-class New Yorkers. I also care deeply about financial literacy and health policy. Government policy should focus on improving our health and increasing our wealth. As an elected official, I intend to keep this principle at the center of every decision — and apply it when considering and proposing legislation.
