Biography

Jake Shade was born in Cumberland, Maryland. Shade's professional experience includes working as a self-employed insurance broker. He earned a bachelor's degree and a graduate degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2013 and 2015, respectively.[1]

Shade has been affiliated with Queen City Lodge #131 and Tri-County Council of Western Maryland.[1]

Jake Shade is a conservative Republican running for Maryland State Senate District 1. Jake was born and raised in Cumberland and graduated from Allegany High School and the University of Maryland- College Park. He was first elected as Allegany County Commissioner in 2014 and re-elected in 2018, he has served as President of the Board of Commissioners since 2015.

Jake believes that Western Maryland doesn’t get our fair share from Annapolis and we must elected people who will fight for our region and uphold our values.

As President of the Allegany County Commissioners Jake has overhauled economic development, hired more police and first responders, and in 2022 due to conservative budgeting Allegany County boasted a record $4.2m surplus, which allowed for the first income tax cut in Allegany County since 1998.
