James "JD" Bennett
James "JD" Bennett was a 2012 Republican write-in candidate for District 31 of the California State Assembly.
Bennett was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from 26 years in law enforcement.[1] Bennett is vice commander of American Legion Post 509 in Fresno, California.[1]

Bennett ran in the 2012 election for California State Assembly District 31. Bennett was defeated by Henry T. Perea (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012. Bennett ran as a Republican write-in candidate.[2] He won in the June 5, 2012 blanket primary election.
