James A. Cales, Jr. is a former circuit court judge for the 3rd Judicial Circuit in Virginia.[1] He retired from the court on December 31, 2012.[2]
Education
Cales received both his undergraduate degree and his law degree from the University of Richmond.[3]
Career
Before he became a circuit court judge, Cales served as a district court judge for the 3rd Judicial District Court for fourteen years. He has also previously served as an assistant commonwealth attorney for eleven years.[2]
