James A. Gibbons is a judge on the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected in November 2013 for a term that expires in 2023.[1]

Primary: He received 42.5 percent of the vote in the Republican primary on May 21, 2013. He also cross-filed as a Democrat, winning that primary with 36.0% of the vote.
General: He won without opposition in the general election on November 5, 2013.
2011
Gibbons was re-elected to the Lackawanna County Magisterial District after running unopposed in 2011.[5]

Education
Gibbons earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton in 1979 and his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1982.[6]
Career
Gibbons has been actively involved in the private practice of law since his admission to the bar in 1982. He was a judge on the Lackawanna County Magisterial District Court from 2006 to 2013.[6]
