James Ahler is the chief judge on the United States bankruptcy court, Northern District of Indiana. He was appointed on June 16, 2017.[1]

Prior to joining the federal bankruptcy court, he was a judge for the Jasper County Superior Court in Indiana. He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that would have expired on December 31, 2020.[2]
