Biography

James Baisden served in the U.S. Air Force from 1985 to 1997, earning an associate degree from the Community College of the United States Air Force in 1990. As of 2020, Baisden was the chief of staff and the chief of emergency services for the Kenai Peninsula Borough. Baisden's professional experience includes working in fire services and management. Below is a brief outline of his career:[2][3]

  • PFD - I will work hard to protect the Permanent Fund.
  • Public Service - I have been in public safety my entire career and have a deep respect for those that serve our communities. I support our military, law enforcement, emergency responders, and educators.
  • Economy - Alaska needs a strong economy with fewer regulations and a balanced budget. Integrity is important. I will be upfront and honest as your Representative in developing a long-term budget.
I am a Candidate for House District 30 because our children and their future as Alaskans is at stake. I want to leave a better Alaska for the next generation.

I support our Constitutional Rights, low taxes, a strong diversified economy, less regulation and a more efficient government.

I'm a lifelong conservative (R). Difficult decisions need to be made now at all levels of government. I believe my experience makes me the best choice to represent the Kenai & Soldotna area.

Burdening our children and their futures with more debt is not responsible and sets them up for failure. The Legislature must create a plan to balance our state budget and create a strong economic climate
My parents and grandparents were great role models growing up, and later in life my Uncle Red & Aunt Tommie.
Trust and Integrity. I'm a retired fire chief, and I have been in public safety most of my entire adult life. Doing the right thing when no one is watching is most important characteristic a person can have.
Represent your district by making decisions that are best for the people of Alaska.
No debt for future generations.
I delivered newspapers for the in a small rural community from the 5th into my high school years in the 1970's.

I enjoy books about history and this book about the Greatest Generation is a great read.
My weight, I love to eat all the wrong foods.
Balancing the budget with declining oil revenue., and protecting the Alaska Permanent Fund.
I would like to be part of any committees dealing with veterans affairs and public safety.
