James Becker
James Becker was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 176 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
Biography
Becker earned his bachelor's degree in Police Science and Criminology from York College Pennsylvania in 1977. His professional experience includes serving as President and CEO of Access Office Electronics, Inc. since 1979.[1]

School Property Tax Reform
- Excerpt: "We can no longer ignore this unsustainable system and replacement of the school property tax is the answer and I will continue to support that goal with until achieved. To that end I support the passage of SB/HB 76 and will work to convince every legislator from across our great state about the importance of passing this legislation."
State Employee Pension Reform
- Excerpt: "Current State Workers should be migrated over the next several years to a modified plan that adjusts retirement benefits by at a minimum eliminating unreasonable end of employment formulas that unreasonably amplify retirement benefits without relationship to employee overall earnings."
Education
- Excerpt: "I will also fight for a new school funding formula and educational block grants that stop the short-changing of Monroe County public schools, as well as an end to the unfunded mandates that have little proven benefit to students but high costs to local taxpayers."

Elections for the Pennsylvania House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 20, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Hope Smith was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Jack Rader, Jr. defeated James Becker in the Republican primary. Smith was defeated by Rader in the general election.[3][4]
