His journey from humble beginnings to becoming a successful entrepreneur and esteemed financial advisor is a testament to the power of perseverance and hard work.

Drawing from personal experiences, James understands the struggles and challenges faced by many Californians. Knowing firsthand the importance of access to quality education, affordable healthcare, and economic opportunities. James' candidacy for office is not just a political endeavor; it is a mission rooted in empathy and a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the lives of his fellow citizens. His platform is built on the core values of integrity, compassion, justice, and inclusivity, with a focus on addressing the unique issues that Californians face today.

James believes that the greatest accomplishment lies not in his financial success, but in the growth of character and empathy that enabled him to rise above his circumstances and strive for a better tomorrow.
  • I am a firm believer in providing real leadership to our community. We deserve a leader who prioritizes the needs of the people over party politics. I am committed to making tough decisions when necessary, while being empathetic and relatable to the struggles and aspirations of our citizens. I understand the importance of listening to diverse perspectives, fostering collaboration, and taking decisive action to address the challenges facing our district. My goal is to lead with integrity, transparency, and a genuine dedication to serving the best interests of all members of our community. Together, we can work towards a brighter future built on trust, respect, and inclusivity.
  • My campaign is also centered around economic empowerment. As a young Black American who has overcome poverty to achieve prosperity, I understand the importance of creating opportunities for all community members to thrive. I'm committed to implementing policies that promote economic growth, entrepreneurship, job creation, and financial security for my constituents. I am dedicated to fostering the growth of small businesses, enhancing educational opportunities, investing in job training programs, and advocating for equitable wages. My goal is to empower individuals and families to create a prosperous future for themselves, promoting self-reliance and independence.
  • A core pillar of my campaign is centered around community engagement and representation. Every voice in my district deserves to be heard and valued. I'm dedicated to being a responsive and accessible leader who actively engages with constituents, listens to their concerns, and advocates for their needs. I'm committed to representing the diversity of our community and ensuring all residents, regardless of background or circumstances, have a seat at the table. By fostering a culture of inclusivity, transparency, and collaboration, I aim to build trust and strengthen the bond between our community and its elected officials. Together, we can create a more vibrant and united district where every individual is empowered to participate.
I am deeply passionate about enhancing public safety, education reform, and environmental protection. Public safety is foundational; I am committed to fostering community partnerships that uphold justice while ensuring our law enforcement has the tools for effective and fair policing. In education, I advocate for equipping our schools with the resources necessary to excel, aiming for every student to have access to a first-rate education that prepares them for a rapidly changing world. Environmental protection is another area close to my heart, as it safeguards our health, and preserves the natural beauty of San Diego. I will craft policies that support economic growth while also ensuring that such such growth is sustainable and inclusive.
I profoundly admire my mother, whose strength, resilience, and independence serve as my guiding inspiration. Growing up without a father and in the projects presented a multitude of challenges, yet she faced them with unparalleled fortitude. Despite these obstacles, she managed to support our family of three children single-handedly without reliance on state assistance.

Her determination to provide for us, coupled with the adversity she overcame, taught me invaluable life lessons. My mother had to mature quickly, taking on responsibilities that would shape her into one of the strongest people I have ever known. It is her example of self-reliance, hard work, and perseverance that I carry into my own life and into the arena of public service.

I strive to emulate her tenacity and commitment to providing for those she cares for, drawing on her example to inform my approach to governance. Her life story propels my desire to create and support policies that empower individuals and provide them with the tools they need to succeed on their own terms. Her legacy is a reminder that, with determination and support, great obstacles can be overcome. Following her example, I aim to serve with the same strength and unwavering dedication she has modeled throughout her life.
Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill has a great philosophy on the importance of independent thought.

In the audiobook of Go Pro by Eric Worre, He gives an amazing speech where he was taking to a crowd of people. He shares some great insight on business ownership and being independent.

I read many books on personal development. I firmly believe that with enough personal development, anyone can manifest the life they desire.

Also, Justice Learned Hand once said" Any one may so arrange his affairs that his taxes shall be as low as possible; he is not bound to choose that pattern which will best pay the Treasury; there is not even a patriotic duty to increase one's taxes." I agree with this philosophy.
The most important characteristics for an elected official are integrity, transparency, and responsiveness. An official must possess unwavering integrity to act ethically and uphold the public trust. Transparency is equally vital, providing a window for constituents to understand decision-making processes and hold officials accountable. An official must also be responsive to the needs of the community, actively listening to the concerns of citizens and addressing them with effective solutions. Additionally, I hold that courage and conviction are essential in leading with principle, not just popular opinion, and that a commitment to service above self-interest guides true statesmanship. It is these qualities that I not only hold in the highest regard but also strive to embody in my service to the people of San Diego State Assembly District 77.
I aspire to leave a legacy as a public servant whose tenure was marked by an unwavering commitment to the betterment of our citizens' lives. My aim is to make history as a leader who, through dedicated efforts, made significant strides in solving our most pressing social and economic issues. I want to be remembered for pioneering transformative policies that spurred economic empowerment, championing progress in education, advocating for environmental stewardship, and fostering a climate of inclusivity and opportunity for every individual.

I envision a future where, decades and even centuries from now, my contributions are celebrated not merely as legislative victories but as pivotal movements that uplifted communities and set new standards for public service. I desire that my legacy be a reflection of profound, positive impact — a clear testament to the idea that with empathy, visionary leadership, and bold actions, it is possible to leave an indelible imprint on history that stands as an inspiration for generations to come.
My favorite book is Outwitting the Devil because of its historical significance. It was written by Napoleon Hill in 1938 and was not published until 2011. Even after over half a century later, it was still relevant to today's time.
California faces several significant challenges over the next decade, from adapting to technological advancements to mitigating environmental issues and beyond. The rise of artificial intelligence and our rapidly changing technological landscape will transform our economy and workforce, requiring proactive measures to ensure our citizens are prepared for the jobs of tomorrow and that ethical guidelines are in place for AI use.

Climate change poses a profound threat, with the potential for severe weather patterns including increased flooding, and environmental degradation. We must implement robust strategies to protect our natural resources, reduce carbon emissions, and prepare for climate resilience. Seeing people pleading for their lives and livelihood is proof that our previous elected officials have failed us, we cannot continue down the path we have been going.

Additionally, managing immigration effectively while upholding compassionate values is a complex challenge; we must work towards a balanced approach that secures our borders and respects human dignity.

Education is another crucial area, as we must revitalize our system to give our youth the tools to succeed in a global, interconnected world. We should invest more into our teachers and enhance our educational system to provide the students with the tools for success.

Lastly, tackling our state's financial health is imperative. Addressing the growing budget deficit and creating a sustainable tax system that fuels growth without overburdening taxpayers is essential for our prosperity. San Diegans are the most taxed citizens in the entire country.
My views on financial transparency and government accountability are rooted in the fundamental belief that a transparent government is an accountable government. In an era where political corruption is rampant and public trust in institutions is waning, it is more critical than ever for public leaders to uphold the highest standards of integrity. I advocate for stringent financial disclosure requirements, open access to budgetary proceedings, and the use of clear, citizen-friendly formats for state financial records to facilitate public scrutiny. Money should never taint the integrity of our leaders, and it is imperative that we establish and enforce robust safeguards to prevent this. As such, I am committed to pushing for reforms that ensure governmental decisions are made in the best interests of the people, free from undue influence, and with complete transparency. Our democracy relies on vigilant oversight, and as an elected official, I pledge to champion this cause relentlessly. Our politicians should not benefit from their privileged information at the expense of their constituents.
