James C. Evans (Ohio)
James C. Evans was a judge on the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas in Youngstown, Ohio.[1] He served as a judge for the court from 2000 until his retirement from the bench on October 1, 2014.[2][3][4] Evans passed away on August 13, 2015.[5]
Education
Evans received his undergraduate degree and master's degree in guidance counseling from Youngstown State University. He received his J.D. degree from the Ohio Northern University College of Law.[2]
Career
Before he became a judge for the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas, Evans served as a county court judge for the Mahoning County Courts from 1995 until his election to the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas in 1999. He also previously worked as an attorney in private practice for twenty years and served as a state highway patrolman.[2]
2010 election
Evans was re-elected to the Mahoning County Court of Common Pleas after running unopposed.[6]
