James C. Lewis (Virginia)
James C. Lewis is a circuit court judge for the 2nd Judicial Circuit in Virginia.[1] He was elected to the court by the Virginia General Assembly on November 10, 2014, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Edward W. Hanson, Jr. Hanson stepped down on December 31, 2014, and Lewis assumed office on January 1, 2015, for an eight-year term expiring on December 31, 2022.[2][3][4][5]
Education
Lewis received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1976 and his J.D. degree from the College of William and Mary in 1979.[6]
Career
Before he joined the court, Lewis was a partner at the firm of Shapiro, Lewis, Appleton, & Duffan, P.C. in Virginia Beach, Virginia.[6][7]
