A New Generation of Leadership
- Excerpt: "Rhode Islanders deserve a new generation of leadership: The old ways of doing business have left us behind. We need a new voice, new leadership, and new ideas to prepare for a new generation. James will make the tough decisions in the best interest of Rhode Island – for today and tomorrow."
Economic Development
- Excerpt: "Advocating for economic development and expanding job opportunities: We need to keep our current businesses and attract new business to the state. We should focus on the future. We need to attract emerging industries including green energy, hi-tech, bio-tech, and health care services."
Tax Reform
- Excerpt: "Working to bring new businesses to Rhode Island and ensuring local businesses stay in Rhode Island through tax reform: Our regulations and fees have driven business away. Streamlined regulations will help get things done in Rhode Island – for a change!"
Education
- Excerpt: "Focusing on educational excellence: Creating the best school system in the nation should be our priority. Our size should give us the ability to make swift and effective changes to benefit all our students. Our children are our future – and we need to give them every opportunity."
Ethics Reform
- Excerpt: "Fighting for strong ethics reform and open government: We need to eliminate insider politics. Ethical accountability is the foundation of our system of government. By restoring ethical standards we restore the faith people have in government."
Fiscal Responsibility
- Excerpt: "Controlling taxes and spending while creating long-term stability: Our roads and bridges have been neglected for too long. Somehow our tax dollars have melted away while our infrastructure has continued to suffer. An investment in our infrastructure is an investment in the future. And that starts now."
