I am a 25 year resident of Clinton, WA, a retired Naval Officer, Health Care Operations Manager and Hospital Financial Manager.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?

• Continue to improve access to care; to promote early detection and treatment.
• Training & Staffing, in support of front-line clinicians requiring adequate technology and ancillary personnel.
• Infrastructure & Infection Control; continuing the extraordinary improvements in Plant & Property (New HVAC for Operating Room, modernized Electronic Health Record, etc), and sustaining the stellar record in "close-to-zero" Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI) rate.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

Whidbey Health is not only a Rural Health System, but it is also a "Critical Access Hospital." This designation brings a host of challenges to be confronted to ensure Whidbey Health survives as a robust health care delivery system.

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

Admiral Chester Nimitz. His innate ability to get very difficult people to perform extraordinary things. He possessed a quiet, almost serene, patience.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

Constituent concerns; being able to listen to neighbors and friends about their health care experiences, as well as their personal choice of health care facility accessed, and why.

What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?

The strength of the Hospital Board is only effective when it speaks with one voice. Teamwork and collaboration is crucial.

What legacy would you like to leave?

What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time?

Climbing a 14,000 foot peak (Mt. Winchell) at age 17.

What was your very first job? How long did you have it?

Gas Station Attendant, one summer.

What is your favorite book? Why?

the biography of Simon Bolivar. He truly was the George Washington of South America.

If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be?

Mighty Mouse

What is something that has been a struggle in your life?

saying the wrong thing at the worst time.

An elderly woman with health care insurance, of which, no local health care provider will honor.

What is an accomplishment that you are proud of?

providing a home on Whidbey Island for my family.
