Jim Chaston grew up in the Western U.S., attending Arizona elementary and junior high schools, then permanently moving to Arizona to attend college in 1991. He graduated from Arizona State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and a Master of Taxation.

Jim has worked in accounting for over 30 years, starting his own CPA firm more than 18 years ago. His firm specializes in working with local small business owners to save them money and be successful.

In addition to helping Arizonans through his CPA Firm, Jim has served on a variety of boards.

Jim also served as a City Finance Director, worked with County Water and Sewer Districts, and Tribal Governments and enterprises working in their accounting and budget systems.

Jim’s extensive background and experience working with government, business, and individuals, makes him uniquely qualified to represent the best interests of Arizonans at the State Capitol.

Jim has been married to his wife Pamela for 29 years and together they have three children. He enjoys completing Triathlons, Spartan Races and other activities to bring out the best in himself and to see just what he is capable of and testing his limits continuously.

As a small business owner, Conservative Republican, community advocate, and CPA, I’m running to take fiscally conservative values and sound business principles to safeguard and protect your hard-earned tax dollars.
  • Supporting Businesses, keeping taxes and regulations low so that we can lower inflation and bring jobs to Arizona is of paramount importance.
  • We need to secure our borders, support our police officers to keep our neighborhoods safe.
  • Our future is our children, we need to invest in education and ensure parental rights of their childrens education.

The ability to work cooperatively and provide a check and balance between the two branches.
that is a two edged sword. Having experience of protocal of how the legislature works and operates helps. Having a fresh and new approach to government is also helpful to work more effectively and not get bogged down in the bureaucracy that we commonly see in government.
It is critical to build realtionships with other legislators, it is how laws get passed. When difficult decisions and stalemates happen, the relationships can help to get decisions passed.

It is almost impossible to get 100% of what you want all of the time. I would rather get 60-70-80% of what is wanted than nothing. I can always come back at a later time to work to get more.

Not sure it is desirable, however people are different and so compromise is needed.
