James Clendenin
James Clendenin is a former District 3 representative on the Wichita City Council in Kansas. He served from 2011 to 2020. He was elected to the council in a special election in 2011 to serve a partial term. Clendenin won election to a full term in 2013.[1][2] Clendenin won a new term in the general election on November 7, 2017. Clendenin resigned on December 31, 2020, after being censured for his role in an attempt to falsely accuse Wichita, Kansas mayor Brandon Whipple (D) of sexual harassment.[3]
In 2010, Clendenin was a Republican candidate for District 98 of the Kansas House of Representatives.

Incumbent James Clendenin defeated W.A. Stofer in the general election for the District 3 seat on the Wichita City Council.[4]

2010
Clendenin ran in the 2010 election for Kansas House of Representatives District 98. Clendenin was unopposed in the August 3rd Republican primary. Clendenin was defeated by Geraldine Flaharty (D) in the November 2 general election.[5]

Noteworthy events
On March 18, 2020, Clendenin, City Council members, Becky Tuttle and Brandon Johnson, and Wichita Mayor Brandon Whipple, announced that they would enter self-quarantine due to possible exposure to coronavirus after attending a conference for city leaders in Washington D.C.[6]
