James Curran has served as a judge for the Hebron Town Court in Washington County, New York. He was elected to a four-year term on November 8, 2011, commencing on January 1, 2012, and ending in 2015.[1] Curran ran for election to the Washington County Court in 2014.[2]

Curran ran for election to the multi-bench seat on the Washington County Court, the Washington County Surrogate's Court, and the Washington County Family Court.
Primary: He was defeated in the Conservative primary on September 9, 2014, receiving 25.9 percent of the vote. He competed against Adam D. Michelini, Daniel S. Martindale and Catherine A. Burkly. Curran ran on the Green Party line in the general election. 
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 7.6 percent of the vote. He competed against Adam D. Michelini and Timothy M. Bulger. [2][3][4][5]

Curran won election to the Hebron Town Court on November 8, 2011. He ran unopposed in the primary and general elections.[1]

Education

Curran received his undergraduate degree from Long Island University in 1989 and his J.D. degree from the City University of New York School of Law in 1992.[6]

Career

In addition to his judicial duties, Curran has maintained a private law practice in Washington County for twelve years. In total, he has worked as an attorney in private practice for twenty-three years, specializing in family, domestic violence, and matrimonial law.[6][7]
