James D. Brosnahan (b. July 5, 1962) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives. Brosnahan represented the 36th District from 1996 until 2010 when he retired.

Brosnahan is an attorney. He earned his J.D. and B.A. from Loyola University.

He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
