James Donohue
James P. Donohue was the chief magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. He was appointed to the court on February 8, 2005, and retired in March 2019.[1][2]
Education
Judge Donohue earned an A.B. degree from the University of Illinois in 1973, and a J.D. degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1976. After law school, he volunteered with VISTA before beginning his legal career.[1]
Career
Judge Donohue began his legal career as a private practice lawyer. Prior to his judicial appointment, he was a shareholder in the firm of Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe, LLP in Seattle.[1]
