James Douglas Elliott (1859-1933) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of South Dakota.

He was nominated by President William Howard Taft on May 25, 1911 to fill a seat vacated by John Emmett Carland. He was confirmed by the Senate on June 7, 1911, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on January 30, 1933.[1]
