James E. Oakley is a judge for the Superior Court of Madera County in California. He was appointed by former governor Gray Davis on October 8, 2003 to succeed Roger Wayne. Oakley was re-elected in 2012.[1][2]

Education

Oakley received a J.D. from Pepperdine University.[2]

Career

Prior to becoming a judge for the Superior Court of Madera County, Oakley was working as an attorney in private practice. He has previously served as a deputy city attorney and deputy district attorney for Fresno County, and as a deputy district attorney and assistant district attorney for Madera County. In addition, Oakely was a Justice Court judge from 1986 to 1988 and was a former mayer of Madera.[2]

2012 election

Oakley ran for re-election to the superior court in 2012. As an unopposed incumbent, his name did not appear on the ballot. After the primary election, Oakley was automatically re-elected.[3]
