Primary: He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 41.2 percent of the vote. He competed against Robert E. Hebert. [1][2][3] 

Education

Pirtle graduated from Kentucky's Murray State University in 1972, earning B.S. degrees in English and journalism and a minor in geology.[4]

Career

Pirtle is the founder of Best Screw Products, Inc., a Houston-based company specializing in distribution of industrial fasteners.[4][5]
