James Finney
James R. "Jim" Finney was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 29 of the Tennessee State Senate.[1]
Biography
Finney earned his bachelor's degree in business with a concentration in personnel and industrial relations from the University of Memphis in 1986. He went on to complete graduate work at the Memphis Citizen's Police Academy.[2]
Finney served in the United States Navy for 24 years retiring as a chief petty officer.[2]
Professionally, Finney owns a legal process business. He has also worked as a real estate agent.[2]

Elections for 18 seats in the Tennessee State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 7, 2014. A general election took place on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 3, 2014. Lee Harris defeated incumbent Ophelia Ford, Ricky Dixon and Herman Sawyer in the Democratic primary. James Finney defeated Anthony Herron, Jr. in the Republican primary. Harris defeated Finney in the general election.[3][1]
