James G. Bodiford
James G. Bodiford is a former superior court judge for the Cobb County Judicial Circuit in Georgia. He was elected to this position in 1994 and announced in May 2014 his plans to retire from the court.[1][2][3] Bodiford is now a senior judge on the court upon his retirement, effective January 1, 2015.[4]
Elections
2010
Bodiford competed against Normarene Culver Merritt in his bid for re-election to the Seventh Superior Court.[5] Bodiford won with 74.3% of the vote.[6]

Education
Bodiford received his undergraduate degree from Mercer University and his J.D. degree from the John Marshall Law School. He later attended and graduated from the National Judicial College.[2]
Career
Bodiford worked as a private practice lawyer in Marietta, Georgia, and as a trial attorney for the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office prior to becoming a judge. He was a judge for the Powder Springs Municipal Court. From 1985 to 1994, Bodiford served as the chief magistrate judge for the Cobb County Magistrate Court. He was then elected to the Seventh Superior Court.[2]
