James G. Pouros

James G. Pouros was the judge for Branch 1 of the Washington County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was appointed by Governor Jim Doyle on July 8, 2010. He was then elected to a full six-year term in 2011.[1][2] Pouros won re-election without opposition in the general election on April 4, 2017. Pouros retired on June 3, 2022.[3]
Education
Pouros earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his J.D. from Marquette University.[1]

Before he began work as a lawyer, Pouros was in the U.S. Army.[1]

Elections
2017
Wisconsin held local judicial elections in 2017. Forty-eight circuit court seats were up for election on April 4, 2017. Three seats required primaries on February 21, 2017, with the top two vote recipients for each seat advancing to the April 4 general election. Thirty-seven seats up for election in 2017 were unopposed.[4] Incumbent James G. Pouros ran unopposed in the general election for the Branch 1 seat on the Washington County Circuit Court.
