James Gardner was vice-chairman of the Kentucky Public Service Commission from 2008-2015. He then served as commission chair from 2015-2016.[1]

Gardner served as an elected member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council from 1982 to 1986. From 1993 to 1997 he was a member of the Fayette County Board of Education, serving as chairman from 1995 to 1997. He was appointed to the KPSC in 2008 and has served on it since.[2]

Gardner has served as a member of the Kentucky Public Service Commission since June 16, 2008.[3] He served as vice-chairman from 2008-2015 and chairman from 2015-2016. He left the commission in 2016.[1]
