James Garrity (New York)
James Garrity is a judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Southern District of New York. He was appointed to the court on February 17, 2015.[1]
Education
Garrity earned his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his J.D. from St. John's University in Jamaica, New York.[2]
Professional career
Prior to being appointed to the court, Garrity was a partner at the law firm of Morgan Lewis & Bockius from 1999 to 2015.[1]
Judicial career
Southern District of New York, bankruptcy
Garrity joined the United States bankruptcy court for the Southern District of New York after an appointment from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He was appointed to the court on February 17, 2015.[1]
Garrity previously served on the court from 1991 to 1999.[1]
