James Tyrone Giles (b. 1943) was a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He served as the court's Chief Judge from 1999-2005.

Giles was appointed to the court by President Jimmy Carter on October 11, 1979 to fill the seat previously occupied by Herbert Fogel. Jones was confirmed by the Senate on November 26, 1979 and commissioned on November 27, 1979.. Giles was succeeded in this position by Joel Slomsky.

Judge Giles assumed senior status on February 11, 2008 and then retired altogether on October 3, 2008.[1]
